Mona began as a collaboration with San Francisco's de Young Museum, an assignment to capture both the museum's modern architecture and the botanical surroundings of Golden Gate Park in a single piece. The gemstone carries the organic, living side of that world, the open, angular wire silhouette echoes the museum's own modern lines.
